Who it is for

Large firms

Litigation practices that file at volume and need verification standardized across every attorney who signs a brief.

Government counsel

District attorney, attorney general, and public defender offices that carry heavy dockets and answer to the public record.

Malpractice underwriters

Carriers that want a defensible verification trail behind the filings they insure.

The math

One avoided sanction pays for the program.

Published monetary sanctions for unverified AI citations have ranged from about $5,000 to more than $100,000, before counting cost orders, fee-shifting, disqualification, and bar referrals. A single avoided sanction covers a seat, and the larger orders cover many seats for years. Across an organization that files at volume, the program protects every attorney who signs.

Compliance

Built for procurement review.

Veritas verifies citations and propositions in publicly filed court documents, and the platform is built on a public-record verification posture. Enterprise customers receive compliance documentation that describes how verification works, how data is handled, and what the audit log captures, so your procurement and security teams have what they need to evaluate Veritas.

For criminal-justice agencies, Veritas is architected so that Criminal Justice Information never enters the system. Criminal-history records, NCIC / III returns, rap sheets, defendant identifiers, and Social Security numbers are detected and blocked at upload, before any verification runs, and the original filing is not retained after its citations are parsed. There is no FBI “CJIS certification” for software; Veritas meets the obligation through a signed CJIS Security Addendum, a compliant deployment, and an audit-ready posture, executed in Colorado through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the state’s CJIS Systems Agency.

Common questions

Is Enterprise priced by seats or by filings?

Per attorney seat. Eleven or more seats is the Enterprise plan: $4,800/seat/year commercial and $4,200/seat/year for government and public sector. Government is $600 per seat below commercial. Boutique firms of one to ten attorneys are self-serve on the Pricing page ($4,990/year for a solo attorney, $4,490/seat/year for a team of two to ten, two months free versus monthly). Every seat carries unlimited filings, so your attorneys never have to choose which filings to verify.

What's the difference between a regular scan and a deep scan?

Every scan does the core check: it confirms each case you cite is real and quoted accurately: the case exists in the official reporter at the volume and page cited, and any language you put in quotation marks actually appears in the opinion. That's what catches a made-up or mis-quoted case, and it runs on every filing, unlimited, usually in under a minute. A deep scan goes one step further: it reads the cited opinion and checks whether the case actually supports the point you're using it for. A citation can be perfectly real and still not stand for what the brief claims, and the deep scan is what catches that. Deep scans take a little longer and are included up to 50 per seat each month (unlimited at 11+ seats).

How is our data handled?

Veritas verifies citations and propositions in publicly filed court documents and is built on a public-record verification posture. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every check is written to an immutable audit log. Enterprise customers receive compliance documentation for procurement.

Is Veritas CJIS compliant?

There is no FBI certification that designates any software product as CJIS compliant; the FBI does not certify or list commercial products. Veritas is architected so that Criminal Justice Information never enters the system: criminal-history records, NCIC and III returns, rap sheets, defendant identifiers, and Social Security numbers are detected and blocked at upload, and the original filing is not retained after its citations are parsed. For a criminal-justice agency, Veritas meets the formal obligation through a signed CJIS Security Addendum, a compliant deployment, and an audit-ready posture, executed in Colorado through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the state's CJIS Systems Agency.
