See Veritas in Action

A complete pass through Veritas on a real filing. Every citation is extracted, located against the primary reporters, checked for quoted language, and tested against the proposition it is offered to support.

What you are watching

The walkthrough runs an ordinary brief through the same pipeline every filing passes on Veritas. The platform reads the document, pulls out each cited authority, and runs a separate set of checks on every one. Nothing is sampled and nothing is skipped. By the end you see a single report that ranks each citation by how much attention it needs before the document is filed.

What Veritas checks

  • Existence. Whether an opinion actually sits at the cited reporter address. When none is found, Veritas reports the citation as not located in the reporter rather than asserting it is invalid, and recommends confirming it against the official reporter before filing.
  • Quotation. Whether the language placed in quotation marks appears in the cited opinion. A quote that cannot be matched to the source is flagged for review.
  • Proposition support. Whether the authority actually stands for the point it is cited for. A case can be real and quoted correctly yet still be offered for a holding it does not contain.
  • Treatment. Whether the case remains good law and how heavily it has been relied on, so a weakened authority does not slip through unnoticed.

Why it matters

Courts across the country have begun issuing sanctions over citations that did not hold up, many of them produced by generative tools and filed without a second check. Veritas moves that check to where it belongs, which is before the filing leaves the office. The demonstration shows the full review finishing in about the time it takes to read the brief’s first page.

You can follow the pattern of real orders on the AI sanctions tracker, or see a finished report on the sample report.

Reviewer of record
Veritas surfaces candidates for attorney review. Findings are not legal conclusions. The decision to rely on any authority, and responsibility for every citation in a filing, remains with the filing attorney.
